I like it's purpose I just hate what it's become. Connecting family and friends all around the world is an amazing capability. On the other hand, airing dirty laundry and updating us on your every move and task of the day is extremely ridiculous.
I actually had someone post a status complaining about how someone was beating their child in the dmv and they couldn't believe how everyone around was just staring and laughing. Am I the only one who's first reaction was why don't you get the hell off FACEBOOK and do something about it then?
I mean seriously. Facebook has become just as necessary to some as an arm or a leg. Actually I should say a mouth or a brain.
Another horrible atribute of facebook is when you see statuses devoted to men and women lost overseas. Half of the time these are months old when they say it just happened. How awful for those families? 6 months after their loved one dies their 7th grade teacher's great aunt judy's cousin from ohio posts this status making it seem like it just happened and hurling all those emotions back to the present. Eff that. Not to mention a while back someone posted about a soldier's death on facebook and the family hadn't even been notified yet. It's just ridiculous.
Now, blogger is probably just as bad since I can write whatever I want in higher quantities. I haven't decided what's going to happen to this blog once I delete my facebook. It's main purpose was to give me an outlet during the hard times this lifestyle brings me. Once my husband gets out I will either have to change it's purpose or give it up all together.
Oh yea, killer cliff hanger right there.
Adios fellow social networking addicts. We are all guilty of it. Just some of us use our addictions for good not evil. Actually, I can't even say evil. More like absolutely no purpose what so ever and in no way shape or form could ever benefit society. Except giving us examples of how not to be. Woah that's a rant if I ever had one.
